Welcome to Lancaster Independent Baptist ChurchAre you new here?

Are You Going to Heaven?

Everyone has the opportunity to get to Heaven.  If you were to die today, do you know for sure you would spend eternity there?

First and foremost, there are only two options to choose for an eternal destination.  According to God's written word, those options are Heaven and Hell.  You are going to want to make sure your name is written in the book of life, so you know that you will be going to Heaven.  Matthew 25:46 - "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."                           Revelation 3:5 - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

"Why wouldn't my name be written in the book of life?"

To know this, you must understand that we are all sinners, and are all deserving of punishment in Hell.  None of us are worthy of Heaven.  Romans 3:23 - "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"  Revelation 20:15 - "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

"Would God really send me to Hell just for a little sin?"

You have to understand, God is not sending you to Hell, you are choosing to go there by not turning to God, and putting your complete trust in Him.  He loves us so much, He gave us a way to be forgiven of our sin and to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.  Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

"Oh, so God sent Jesus, so I don't have to go to Hell?"

That is correct!  God sent Jesus Christ to be a perfect sacrifice, so that we have an opportunity to be saved from sin and Hell.  It is a free and perfect gift, available to everyone, but you have to accept the gift.  John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  John 3:18 - "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God"

"So I just have to believe in Jesus Christ, and I will get into Heaven?"

It is that simple.  You must believe in Him with all your heart.  Put your trust in him, because he is the only way.  Confess your sins, and you will be forgiven through Christ's sacrifice.  Mark 1:15 - "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."  Romans 10:9-10 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  John 14:6 - "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

"This is great!  I know that I am going to Heaven.  What do I do next?"

Now, we would recommend planning a visit.  Come join us in worship, and speak with us.  We can connect you with a discipler, someone who can help you to build a biblical foundation, and guide you through the next steps of your journey.  If you are not able to come visit us, we at least encourage you to reach out and contact us.  We would love to hear of your salvation, so we can praise the Lord with you.  I Corinthians 10:31 - "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."  Hebrews 10:25 - "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."  Matthew 28:19 - "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
