Israel asking for an earthly king
Lancaster Independent Baptist Church was founded on July 24, 2005. After much prayer, God led Pastor Timothy and Sheryl York to move to Lancaster and start a church that would clearly preach the gospel with the dual goals of bringing glory to God and evangelizing the world. Our first two Sunday meetings were held at the former Holiday Inn on Greenfield road while we awaited approval from Manheim Township Zoning Hearing Board to use the Neffsville Middle School as a longer term meeting location. Approval was granted and we began meeting at the school on August 7, 2005. A little more than six years later, God provided our current meeting location at 33 East Center Street in Lititz. Since the inception of Lancaster Independent Baptist Church, God has allowed us to minister to the hearts of people from all over Lancaster County and even to tourists visiting from other states and countries.
The ministry of Lancaster Independent Baptist Church exists to exalt God (1 Corinthians 10:31) by evangelizing the unsaved with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15); educating the redeemed to understand and apply the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:2); edifying one another by exercising of our spiritual gifts within the church (Ephesians 4:14-16); and encouraging one another as we anticipate the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:23-25).
